Gary Wayne Trowbridge, age 69, a native of Vincennes, Indiana and resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on October 16, 1953 to the late Donald Trowbridge and the late Norma Brown. Gary will forever be remembered as a highly intelligent, humble and quiet man that loved life and the citizens that he served. He was a graduate of Seymour High School and Police Academy. His passion was law enforcement and serving his community was his life. He served with dignity and faithfulness for over 35 years as a member of the City of Seymour Police Department and retired as a sergeant in 2007. Gary was also a reserve Deputy with the Jackson County Sheriffs office and after retirement, worked in security. He was a Christian by faith and a 23 year member of the Seymour Masonic Lodge #134. Gary enjoyed collecting WWII memorabilia and was a lover of animals, especially his two dogs and two cats. Gary was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother and friend to many and will be sadly missed by each life that he touched in his own special way.

Gary is survived by his wife of over 23 years, Debbie (Claywell) Trowbridge of Seymour, Indiana, one daughter, Whitney Malone and her husband David of Seymour, Indiana. one step son, Jeff Stephenson of Seymour, Indiana. One brother, Bob Brown and his wife Tracy of Seymour, Indiana and one sister, Tina Trowbridge of Illinois. One grandson, Jeffrey Stephenson of Seymour, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Brian Brown.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Gary will be laid to rest at Riverview cemetery.

The family requests that Memorials be directed to Red Sky Rescue in honor of Gary Trowbridge.
