Laura Maria Curtiss, a beloved resident of Tampa, Florida, passed away on February 19, 2023, at the age of 98, she was born December 6, 1924 in New York. She had called Tampa home since 1958, and during that time, she touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith.

Laura is survived by her three devoted sons; Clifton, Stephen (Patricia), and Mark (Julie), as well as her daughter, Cynthia (Patrick Shea). She was a cherished grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Laura's passion for education and interior design led her to graduate from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her thirst for knowledge was matched only by her compassion for others. She spent many years volunteering for various organizations, including Life Path Hospice, Children Service Center, and Stepping Stone Farm, where she made a significant impact on the lives of those she served.

Laura was an active member of South Tampa Fellowship Church, formerly Davis Islands Community Church, where she shared her love of God with others and found comfort in the community. Her unwavering faith was a source of inspiration to many and a testament to her character.

A memorial service will be held in Laura's honor, and she will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at the gravesite of her beloved husband, John A. Curtiss. Her son, Stephen, will preside over the service, honoring her memory and celebrating her life.
