He was born in Cobbtown and was a son of Ralph Stephen Lively, Sr. and Maggie McDaniel Lively. Ralph was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam and he earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Upon retirement from the military, he began his career as a lineman with several utility companies and retired from Service Electric of Chattanooga, TN as a General Foreman. Ralph was a good husband and father. He loved to farm and was a true cowboy who loved his horses. He especially loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and his dog, Buddy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, R.L Lively and Ray Lively; sisters, Vera Kicklighter, Faye Gilmore and a brother-in-law, William Kicklighter.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Lively; son, Dustin Linn Lively (Amanda); daughter, Dawn Lively; grandchildren, Alex Lively, Kody Terrell (Whittney), Kaleb Terrell, Kaitlyn Cleveland (Ben), Linnsey Lively, Kobie Bowen and Gabriel Lively; great grandchildren, Kyce Terrell and Kyndall Terrell; brother, Harvey Lively (Joyce); sisters-in-law, Earlene and Betty Lively; sister, Neta Kicklighter; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be November 21, 2022 from 1-2 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.
A memorial service will be November 21, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel with full military honors to be rendered.
