Actor. He was best known to television viewers as Pvt. Ben Whitledge on the television version of "No Time for Sergeants" from 1964-1965. The younger brother of actor Ryan O'Neal, he got his start in acting in 1961 on an episode of "The Deputy." Besides "No Time for Sergeants," he went on to appear in such television series as "The Donna Reed Show," "My Three Sons," "Gidget," "Perry Mason," "The Fugitive," "Mod Squad," and "Room 222." In 1964, he made his film debut in "Kisses for My President." His later film credits included such titles as "Young Fury," (1964) "Village of the Giants," (1965) "The Trouble with Girls," (1969) "Love Story," (1970) and "What's Up, Doc?." (1972) He left acting in the mid 1970s.
