JOSEPH VINCENT NABHOLZ, 62, of Woodbridge, VA, formerly of Memphis, died February 23, 2008 in Woodbridge. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 28 at Canale Funeral Directors, Memphis, TN. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday, February 29 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. He was a Senior Biologist/Ecologist with the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C., where he served for 29 years. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers University, received a PhD from the University of Georgia, and was a member of many ecological associations. He was decorated with the Army Commendation medal with oak leaf cluster for service in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 and was a communicant at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Lake Ridge, VA. He was the beloved husband of Sue Winterburn Nabholz and devoted father of Karen Nabholz Stemerman and Pamela Michelle Nabholz. He leaves a son-in-law, Jonathan Stemerman; a brother, Marty Nabholz of PA; two sisters, Ann Nabholz Smith of Memphis and Jeanne Nabholz Nicholson of Collierville. He will be missed by family, friends and colleagues from around the world. Flowers or a donation to the American Heart Association are welcome.
