Kewanee, IL - Bernice E. Eastman, 93, of Kewanee died at 9:05 P.M. Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Kewanee Care Home.

She was born October 4, 1914 in Annawan Twp., Henry County, Il. the daughter of Charles and Mary (Bentham) DeWitt. As a child she attended rural schools. She later graduated from Kewanee High School and the former Kewanee Business College.

Bernice married Robert H. Eastman September 27, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two infant sons.

Surviving is one son Charles "Chip" (Annie) Eastman of Kewanee and ten grandchildren Robby, Kyria, Eli, Marli, Lea, Aly, Jenni, Collin, Nikki and Elle Eastman.

Bernice had worked as administrative assistant at the former Kewanee Power Co. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Kewanee and its Women's Fellowship, Midland Country Club, Fortnightly Club, Chapter CS P.E.O., Bernice enjoyed travel, reading, keeping up with current events, spending time with friends and involvement in family activities.

Burial will be in the South Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee, Il.
