THE PARIS NEWS, Fri., Aug. 25, 1995, p.18A. Jewel Caviness Huddle, 98, of the Hopewell community died Thursday, Aug. 24, 1995, at Paris Nursing Home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Hopewell Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Caldwell officiating. The family will be at their respective residences.

Mrs. Huddle was born July 7, 1897, in Caviness, a daughter of William Jefferson and Amanda Manhart Caviness. She attended schools in Caviness and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. After working as a school teacher at Garrett's Bluff schools, she was employed by Chapman's-Nauman Greenhouses for many years.

She married Louis E. Huddle Sep. 25, 1918. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1987.

Surviving are one son, William E. 'Billy' Huddle of Hopewell; two daughters, Mrs. Quincy (Zoe) Hazelwood and Mrs. Clyde (Ann) Darnell; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews.'
