'Louis Edward Huddle, Rt. 1, Sumner, in the Hopewell community, died at Paris Nursing Home Monday, Nov. 16. Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 18, in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Florence and Dr. Pat Otwell officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mr. Huddle was born Oct. 7, 1897, in Hopewell, a son of James C. and Myrtie Ella Scott Huddle. He attended Hopewell school and married Jewel Ann Caviness on Sep. 25, 1918. They lived in Paris until 1947 when they returned to the Hopewell community. He was a horticulturist for Nauman Greenhouse here for 33 years before retiring in 1959. He had also worked for Texas Power and Light Transit System here as a motorcar operator. He was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church and the Texas Horticulturists Association.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Quincy (Zoe) Hazelwood of Paris and Mrs. Clyde L. (Ann) Darnell of Rt. 10, Paris; one son, William E. Huddle of Hooks; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Corene Anderson of Tyler; and a brother, Adrain Huddle of Burnett.
