Weisse, Marvel Rose 12/14/1926 - 4/18/2022 Mesick, Michigan Marvel Rose Weisse passed on in Traverse City, Michigan on April 18, 2022. Marvel was born December 14, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan and was the only child of Rose Lundgren and Laurence C. Reeve. Her early years were spent in Lansing and then in Muskegon. In 1945 she married Robert A. Weisse, who preceded her passing in 2008. Marvel and Bob spent 48 years in Muskegon, where they raised three children. Marvel had a full and interesting life. She remembered these years as the best ones. They attended Central Lutheran Church where they met many life-long friends. They enjoyed their bridge club groups for many years. She was active with the Hackley Hospital auxiliary where she started a cafe and gift shop in the lobby. She took art and cooking classes, ballroom dancing, was a Cub Scout den-mother, took many family trips, some overseas, camping, fishing and skiing. Marvel was an excellent seamstress and loved to knit. She was a loving mother who encouraged and supported her family. Marvel was an accomplished and adventurous cook. She learned many German recipes from her grand mother-in-law Sofia Weisse, who was a cook in Germany. Swedish culinary influences were from her mother Rose. In 1992, she and Robert moved to Mesick, Michigan.
