Edward Abner Jr., 70, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000 at his home. Born May 19, 1929, in Perry County, Ky., he was the son of Edward and Cora (Begley) Abner. He was a union carpenter most of his life, and was a member of the Philadelphia Church of God. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Abner, in 1988; a son, David Michael Abner, in 1976; and many brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Helen Abner; two sons, Frank (Pam) Abner of West Alexandria and Joe (Deanne) Abner of Arcanum; two stepsons, Terry (Rhonda) Malott and Jerry Malott, two stepdaughters, Janet (Jerry) Werner and Marilyn (John) Hosbrook, all of Lewisburg; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Willis Abner of Kentucky; and a sister, Elizabeth Oliver of Connersville, Ind.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Bill Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery near West Alexandria.
