Journalist and author. She was one of Denmark's biggest cultural personalities. She was the daughter of wholesaler Harry Alexander Jensen (1889 - 1976) and his wife fashion dealer Olga Sofie Tønder (1889 - 1987). In 1935, she apprenticed as a journalist at Roskilde Dagblad. Lise Nørgaard was an employee here until she was employed at Politiken in 1949, where she cultivated women's and consumer fabrics. She joined Ugebladet Hjemmet in 1968, where she was editor-in-chief from 1975 to 1977. In the years from 1980 to 1988, she was a commentator on Berlingske Tidende. Lise Nørgaard published a number of novels, short stories and memoirs, including "Volmer," "Stjernevej," "Only a Girl," and "They Sent a Lady." She was a co-author of the radio play "Karlsens Kvarter," the satire programs "Hov-Hov" and "Uha-Uha," and the TV series "Huset på Christianshavn" and "En stor families," and not least scriptwriter for the popular TV series "Matador." In addition, she wrote film scripts for the films "Mor behind the wheel," "Me and the mafia," "The mafia, it's us," as well as game shows "Riv stikett ud" and "Hjealp det er Christmas." Lise Nørgaard was a member of the representative board of the Journalists' Association from 1952 to 1965, of the board of the Danish Women's National Council from 1956 to 1961, of the executive committee of the Danish Women's Association from 1966 to 1968 and vice-chairman of the board of the Statens Filmstudie from 1974 to 1977. In 1994, she became a knight of the Dannebrog and in addition received a number of honours, e.g. Publicist prize 1982 and De Gyldne Laurbær in 1992. On 7 October 1938 she married procurator Mogens Einar Flindt Nielsen. The marriage was dissolved in 1950. She was then married on 29 July 1951 in Skovshoved Church to journalist, editor Jens Waaben Nørgaard. In her last years, Lise Nørgaard lived at the Else Marie home in Humlebæk.
