Ronald Alvin Blaker, 66, died at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, December 26, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born June 13, 1956 in Washington D.C. the son of the late Martin Joseph and Florence (Cohen) Blaker. Ron served in the U.S. Navy with Attack Squadron VA-176 "Thunderbolts" and deployed in support of Operation Urgent Fury (Granda), as an ATI (AW), Aviation Electronics Technician Petty Officer 1st Class, Aviation Warfare Specialist. He later worked for the Texas State Attorney General in IT Support, and then as the office manager for Healthcare for Her in Round Rock, Texas.
On December 31, 1999 he married Dr. Catherine "Cathy" Elizabeth Roane in Austin, TX who survives him. Ron helped raise Cathy's sons, Ian and Elliot Ives. Ron is survived by Ian Ives and his wife Chelsea and grandson, Rowan of Leander, TX, Elliot Ives of Austin, TX and a brother, Alex Blaker and niece, Sabrina Blaker of Round Rock, TX.
A memorial visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton, IL.
