Gladys Marie "Nana" Stinson Beaty, age 73 of Columbus, KS passed away Saturday Feb. 16, 2008 at the St. Johns Regional Medical center in Joplin, MO.
Gladys was born May 23, 1934 the daughter of Archie and Lois Tadlock Stinson in Ash Flat, Ark. Her family moved here when she was in grade school she attended Stipville school and graduated from Cherokee County Community High School in Columbus.
Gladys married Ronald D. "Pa" Beatty on July 11, 1952 in Columbus, KS. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2007.
In her early married years she worked as a waitress, then attended Beauty School in 1959 and became a beautician.
Survivors include two sons Fred Beaty and wife Barbara, and Mike Beaty, both of Columbus; three granddaughters Myranda Beaty, Natasha Beaty and fiancé Kevin Rather and Nicole Eby and companion Brandon Ivey, one grandson Dustin Beaty and wife Amy. Three great granddaughters Peyton and Savannah Beaty and Jadeyn Ivey and two great grandsons Julian and Joziah Rather all of Columbus sister-in-law Wanda Beaty and six nieces Brenda Qualls, Debra Messer, Katy Hess all of Columbus, Bobbie Keck, Becky Graves and Pam Keck all of the state of Oregon and two nephews Steve Beaty of Columbus, KS and Lloyd Graves of the state of Oregon.
