Fay Arnold, as lovely a lady as one could ever hope to meet, was the oldest of six daughters born to the marital union of Walter Jack Arnold and the former Mollie James Lynch. Fay also had two brothers, her devoted fraternal twin. Lt. Col. Ray Earl Arnold, USAF Ret., and her youngest sibling, Bobbie Jack Arnold. Her five sisters were Mary Lou Duffeck, Dorothy Helen Miller, Bessie Virginia "Ginny" Ezell, and Pauline LaVerne Lawrence.

Fay grew up in Lufkin, Angelina County in east Texas. After attaining her majority, she moved a little northwest to the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area where she enjoyed a long, productive career with General Dynamics (formerly Consolidated Aircraft) in Fort Worth. Upon retirement, she relocated to the Henderson County town of Eustace where she lived for some years prior to moving to her final home, Seadrift, a coastal community on the Gulf of Mexico . It was in Seadrift that Fay, who had courageously battled cancer for several years, transitioned to the next life in September 2001. She was laid to her final rest in Payne Cemetery, also known as Payne Springs Methodist Church and Cemetery.

Fay was a much admired cousin to her father's nieces (none of Jack's siblings fathered sons), all but three of whom have since passed away. A quiet, genteel woman with winning ways, Fay is sorely missed. Her memory will be cherished as long as one of her last three Arnold cousins - Janey, Sue, and Betty - are here to remember her.
