James W. Defibaugh, 67, 813 Xenia Ave., Wilmington, died Monday morning at his residence. He had been in failing health for the past two years. A native of Randolph County, Ind., he was a former employee of International Harvester, served as a security guard at Second National Bank and was an employee of Hutton Casket Company, all of Richmond. The Defibaughs resided in Lewistown, Ohio, before moving to Wilmington a month ago.

Survivors include his wife, Alice (Bragg) Defibaugh; one son, James Lowell Defibaugh of Brownsburg, Ind.; two stepchildren, Jack Stratton of Wilmington and Virginia Reed of Bellefontaine; one sister, Ruth Mason of Greenville; two brothers, Paul Defibaugh of Richmond, Ind., and Hal Defibaugh of Baltimore, Md.; one grandchild; nine step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barnes Funeral Home – New Paris Chapel with the Rev. Timothy A. Hume officiating. Burial will be in Spring Lawn Cemetery, New Paris. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Clinton County.

He has his name on a memorial in Goshen Cemetery, however, he is not buried in that cemetery. He is buried in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
