Velda Eldean Temple of Elmira died February 7th, 2008 of age-related causes. She was 77.

She was born Sept. 22, 1930 in Eugene to Adolph and Cecile Swift Petersdorf. She married Rolland Temple in 1958 in Springfield.

She graduated from Elmira High School. She owned and operated Eldean's Variety Store in Veneta, and was a seamstress. For many years, she held a summer reunion at her home each year for her father's side of family. She was very sweet and caring, and delighted in keeping family members connected.

Survivors include four sons, John "Butch" Welton of Elmira,Walter "Wally" Welton of Veneta, Tim Temple of Bellingham, Wash., and Tom Temple of Portland; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1995.

She is buried at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City.
