A resident of Baton Rouge, a former resident of Memphis, Tenn., and a native of Cleveland, Miss., Frances Frazier Rowell died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at 11:30 p.m. at her home. She was 81.

Arrangements entrusted to Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. Interment in Resthaven Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Rowell Ball, of Baton Rouge; son, Richard Alan Rowell, of San Francisco; sister, Dorothy Sparkman, of Redlands, Calif.; two grandchildren, Luke Ball, of Baton Rouge, and Andrea Ball, of Park City, Utah; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lamar Rowell.

She was born in Mississippi and attended Mississippi State College for Women before moving to Memphis. She married Richard Rowell, raised their two children and lived in Tennessee for 30 years before moving to Baton Rouge, which has been her home since 1976.
