Nobles James "Jimmy" Boykin, 90 of Petty died Tuesday, 9 Nov 2004, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are set for 11 a. m. Friday, 12 November, at Cooper-Sorrels Funeral Home in Honey Grove with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating, assisted by Rev Terry Paul Cunningham. Burial follows in Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family receives friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born 18 June 1914, in Sylvareau, Mississippi, the son of James Owens Boykin and Carrie Rogers. He married Myrtie Elizabeth Phillips in Bonham on 13 July 1943. He was a farmer and rancher. He served in the Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant. He was a member of White Rock Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cleo Boykin and Coley Boykin; three sisters, Clara Stephenson, Bernice Stokes and Wilma Buckley.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtie Elizabeth Boykin of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Carol Boykin of Petty, Ed and Donna Boykin of Petty; grandson and wife, Matt and Heather Boykin of Melissa; great-granddaughter, Caroline Boykin; two brothers, Otis Boykin and William Boykin of Mississippi; two sisters, Lu Annie Luster of Plainview and Camilla Dagradi of Florida.
Pallbearers are Matt Boykin, Coley Boykin, John James, John Mowery, Marvin Gaither and Ricky Snell. Honorary pallbearers are Brad Snell, Scott Snell and Dale Gaither.
