Amanda was a shy, girly-girl who loved playing dress-up. She overcame her fear of public speaking and went on to represent our county as the 2007 Clark County Fair Queen. She served as an assistant pageant director for several years. Amanda was also competitive and played basketball, softball, volley ball, and ran track. One of her favorite things was target shooting with her Dad and Uncle and listening to the stories and laughter of the Brown brothers at the family hunting gatherings.
Amanda was a dog lover. She fostered many dogs and adopted most of them herself. Several family members have been coaxed into becoming dog parents due to our difficulty telling her no.
Amanda moved to Vincennes, IN for several years and felt called to serve as a foster mom. She was single and beginning to have more difficult health struggles, but she didn't let that stop her from opening her home and shining a light in the lives of several kids going through some of the most difficult challenges in their own lives.
In 2019, Amanda took on her most challenging and rewarding job with the birth of her first son, Finn Nicholas, followed in 2020 by her second son, Boady Treyson. Amanda loved being a Mommy. She persevered for her boys.
