Maxine Sharpless Bell, passed away on February 5, 2008 at her home in Fairhope, Alabama. Maxine was born in Walnut Hill, Florida on January 18, 1926 to John Castle and Lala Holley Sharpless. She grew up in Atmore, Alabama and lived in Warner Robins, Georgia for most of her adult life, but lived in Fairhope, Alabama for the past five years. She was a member of Daphne United Methodist Church and a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins, Georgia. She was a member and the past president of the Warner Robins Women's Club, the Morning Garden Club, and as well as a past officer of the Women's Auxiliary (Alliance) to the Georgia Dental Association. Her love of flowers and art was only surpassed by the love she had for her family and friends. Mrs. Bell is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Dr. Jack A. Bell, Sr., Fairhope, Alabama; one son, one daughter, seven grandchildren, ; two brothers; two sisters. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jewel Grace S. Godwin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 2:00 PM in Magnolia Park Cemetery, Warner Robins, Georgia. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Covenant Hospice, 6475 Van Buren St., Daphne, Al. 36526.
