Son of Louis/Lewis Broyles [1812-1896, buried at Morrison Cemetery] and Lucinda Staten Broyles. Married Susannah J. "Susan" Furry (or, Furrey) on Dec. 31 1868 [Susannah was born Oct. 17 1850, Dodson, Jackson Co., MO; died Jan. 5 1893, Dent Co., MO; do not presently have any information on her background, do not know where she is buried for certain, but family researchers place her at Morrison; census information from 1870 and 1880 states Susan was born in Missouri, as were her parents]. U.S. Census of 1870 shows them to be a farm family in Watkins Township, Dent Co., Missouri; 1880 as farmers in Norman Twp., Dent Co., same in 1900 (Thomas was a widower by then); in 1930, at age 81, Thomas is a boarder in the house of James Happel, Short Bend Township, Dent County. Death Certificate gives Thomas' age to be 90 years, 1 month, 26 days, died from apoplexy brought on by hypertension, burial in Morrison Cemetery.
