When Lottie Emily's mother died, she was raised by her aunt, Emily Jones. Obituary: Mrs. Lottie S. Barker Servcies Conducted Private funeral rites for Mrs. Lottie Spencer Barker of Hamlin descendant of a pioneer Ogden family, were held today in Walker Brothers Funeral Parlors, Spencerport. Mrs. Barker died Tuesday (Mar. 7, 1944) after an illness of several years. Her grandfather, Austin Spencer, came from East Haddam, Conn. to settle in Ogden in 1806. Spencerport was named for his brother, Daniel Spencer, who settled in the area. Mrs. Barker leaves her husband, William G. Barker; a son, W. S. Barker; a daughter, Mrs. Charles G. Smith, four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Charles and a sister, Katherine. Burial was in Fairchild (sic--Fairfield) Cemetery, Spencerport.Misses Mary and Nellie Corser of Minneapolis, Minn., who are attending Cornell University are spending their holiday vacation with their cousin, Lottie Spencer, at the residence of Mrs. E.L. Jones.
