He was born Jan. 15, 1949 in Champaign, the son of Keith and Virginia Kemper, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bonnie Kemper; son, Ken (Kelli) Kemper of Champaign; daughters, Kristen (Adam) Kane of Greenwood, Indiana and KK (Ryan) Doughty of Champaign; grandchildren, Riley and Carson Kemper, Connor and Rowan Kane, and Lilly, Samantha and Parker Doughty; brothers, Howie and Scott Kemper, both of Champaign and sister, Carole Long of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
When he was younger, Gordon worked for his father's business, Kemper Industrial Equipment, then went on to manage residential and commercial properties. He was a longtime Illini fan and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He could always be found at family members' sporting events and activities, rooting for his loved ones. Mostly, Gordon loved people and never met someone that he couldn't connect with. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
