Born in the Merrick section of West Springfield to John and Viola (Welch) Frappier on June 3, 1937, Helen Estelle Frappier was the oldest of four beloved sisters. Helen married the love of her life, eventually moving into their forever home in the Forest Park section of Springfield. Once she entered into their Victorian home, Helen made it clear she never wanted to leave. Married for 63 years, Helen devoted her life to the family - her greatest joy.

She is survived by her husband, five children, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of West Springfield High School, and worked over 30 years as a Customer Service Representative, beginning at the New England Telephone Company which later became ATT and Verizon.

Over those years she built many deep and lasting relationships with her sense of adventure, quick wit and loyalty. It was a gift to be a friend of Helen's and every friend she made became family. She could cook, decorate, sew, shop, and as a person of great faith, pray with the best of them. She was also a ferocious reader, loved playing cards, and was always ready to pack her traveling bag. Helen and her husband especially cherished the time they spent at their summer home in Cape Cod with family, and winter home in Coconut Creek Florida.

She was a faithful congregant of Holy Name Parish in Springfield and treasured the community of her prayer group.

Helen spread her net wide and was rewarded with a family who loved her dearly, they will carry her love and enduring spirit in their hearts forever.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to celebrate her life on Monday, October 10, from 3pm to 6pm at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Name Parish, 332 Dickinson Street, Springfield, MA, on Monday, October 11 at 11am. Burial will follow at Massachuetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Sisters of Providence, 5 Gamelin St. Holyoke MA 01040 or to a charity of your choice.
