Actress. She was born Joanna Venetia Invicta Stevenson and is the daughter of film director Robert Stevenson and actress Anna Lee. After moving to California she lived with her father and stepmother. She received her education at California private schools. She made her theatrical debut with her mother in "Liliom" in 1955. She signed a contract with RKO Pictures in 1956. From 1957 until 1961 she appeared in numerous film and television shows that included "Playhouse 90" 1957, "Sugarfoot" 1957, "Darby's Rangers" 1958, "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" 1958, "Day of the Outlaw" 1959, "Island of Lost Women" 1959, "Seven Ways from Sundown" 1960 and "Back to the Future Part II" 1989. Around 1957 she became the face on Sweetheart Stout cans and bottles. She was married and divorced twice. Her first marriage was to film and television actor and dancer Russ Tamblyn and the second time to Don Everly of the group The Everly Brothers, with whom she had 3 children. She retired from acting in 1962 and often complained about how much she hated acting. She passed away at a health care facility in Atlanta after a battle with Parkinson's disease.
