She and her mother made quilts for newly married couples and blankets for many babies that were born. She attended the local Methodist church. Melva sang solo at the church and other occasions, such as weddings. She was a member of the Helping Hands Club, women in town from local churches that looked after families at times of need.
She was a true animal lover having many pets over the years on the farm.
While she didn't have children or marry, She was known by many as Aunt Melva starting with 16 nieces and nephews followed by their children. After her parents passed on she continued to open the farm to family and friends to come.
Melva passed in September 2022 Preceded by her parents Melvin and Mildred also her siblings Ronald, Warren, Laurence, and Lorraine . She is survived by one brother Russell and many nieces and nephews.
Melva has left many memories that will ensure she will not be forgotten.
