In conversation with my father, R. Milford Spencer, 4 Sept 1983, he stated that Mary, his aunt, married a second time and went to Europe (Italy?). She was there a short time and returned with a maid before the beginning of WWI. My Dad stated that she was afraid of her 2nd husband, Daniel Reese, and she said that "he might have tried to throw her overboard". In an old family Bible of Joseph Arnold Spencer, her father, she is listed as Mary B. Spencer

History of Libbeus Foster Spencer's house, 127 Water (changed to West Avenue), Spencerport, NY: "First owner, William Brown and wife, Clarissa; sold in Dec 1858, to Mary Keller. In March 1863 sold to Patrick Hanlon and wife, Mary; 15 May 1866 sold to Anna B. Spencer, wife of L. B. Spencer. 25 Jun 1901 to L. F. Spencer; sold to Mary S. Goff, 16Aug 1904. Abstract says David D. Reese (age 36) and Mary I. S. Goff (age 53) were married 23 Feb 1914, "First marriage for groom and second for bride, who is a widow". For survivors, it listed "Husband David D. Reese, abandoned her about 20 years ago, present whereabouts are unknown".
