Son of Jesse Martin Province and Mildred J. Tharp. He graduated from Freedom High School in 1952. After graduation he moved to Wichita, KS, and worked at Boeing Aircraft Company. He joined the U.S. Army in November, 1953 and spent a year in Germany. After serving two years, he returned to Boeing where he worked for 38 years. He was married to Coleta "Co" Darr on May 10, 1958 in Miami, OK. He was active coaching summer league baseball for nine years. He was preceded in death by one brother and one granddaughter. He was survived by his wife, a daughter, two sons, a brother, a half-brother, two sisters, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and an extended family of relatives ad friends. His funeral was held on February 4, 2008, with The Rev. Aaron Martin officiating.
