Carol L. Altreuter, age 57, of Wisconsin Rapids, died unexpectedly, Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau.

She was born September 12, 1964 in Milwaukee the daughter of Audry and Verla (Leach) Phillips. She married Alan D. Altreuter on May 1, 1993.

Carol was a graduate of Wisconsin Rapids High School. After graduation she enlisted with the United States Army and served for 10 years. After her services to our country, she returned to Wisconsin Rapids where she worked for McCann Foods. She was currently working as a postal carrier in the Wisconsin Rapids area for the past 20 years.

She is survived by her husband, Alan D. Altreuter, Wisconsin Rapids; three children, William, Robert and Phillip Sysak; two grandchildren, Adeline and Hoyt Sysak; her mother Verla Phillips; further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 12:00 noon in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. Friday until time of services at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her father in the White Cemetery, Coloma, Wisconsin with full military honors.
