Dick was born on June 9, 1942 in Syracuse to the late Carl & Margaret (Kenyon) Aaserud. He was a sanitation worker at Upstate Disposal in Rochester for many years prior to retiring. In July of 2001, Dick married the love of his life, Charlotte L. Aaserud who predeceased him in June of 2021. Their love was a connection, as Dick would often refer to Charlotte as" Babe" and this always gave her butterflies in her stomach and a beautiful smile across her lips.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dick is predeceased by 7 sisters and 4 brothers.
Dick is survived by his brothers: William & Robert Aaserud; 9 step-children; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Dick enjoyed fishing with the boys, taking rides and gossiping with his grandson Ronald and telling stories to whomever was listening. Dick was great at remembering everyone's birthday and year they were born and how much something cost back in his day. Dick was a go-to guy, always willing to help others out.
Per Dick's request, funeral services will be private. He will be buried in Italy Naples Cemetery next to Charlotte.
