Linda Faye Davis, 64, of Old Town passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at her home. She was born in Lake City, raised in Dixie County by her mother, Mary Beth Cannon Hines and grandmother, Ms. Mary E. Cannon; but moved as a child and later returned 36 years ago as a permanent resident of Dixie County. Shw was a member of Pine Mount Baptist Church of McAlpin, Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Dempsey Davis of Old Town; sons, Phillip (Wynette) Sumner and Christopher Sumner both of McAlpin, Florida; step-sons James Davis and Howard Davis, both of Old Town; daughters, Ronna (Timothy) Williams and Glynis (Bubba) Branche, both of McAlpin, Florida, and brother, Johnny Hopkins of Lake City; 6 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 27, 2008, 2 P. M. at the Rock Sink Baptist Church in Old Town, with Brother Bruce Branche and Brother Bubba Branche officiating. A visitation was held Saturday, January 26, 2008, between the hours of 5 and 7 P.M. Burial was at Rock Sink Cemetery.
