William Farley Carter (1797-1862) married in 1823, Eliza Ann Conn (1806-72). They moved to Missouri in 1834 where he taught school. They moved by 1860 to Osceola, St. Clair County, Mo. Ten children were Eleanor Elizabeth (1824-1917), a daughter (1816-28), Rosalie Maria (1829-1900), Mary Washington (c1832-84), Otwayanna (d.yng), Lelia (d.inf), Philippa Isabelle (c1841-c53), William Farley, Jr. (1843-1930), Charles Edward (c1845-d.yng), and Landon St. Leger Carter (c1848-d.yng).
