Mrs Laffins 80,Died Thursday;Rites Sunday
Mrs.James Laffins 80 of 649 Illinois Ave died at 8:30 pm Thursday at Ryburn Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack. She had been in falling health. Mrs. Laffins was taken by ambulance to the hospital after city first aid truck answered a call to the Laffins home at 7:43 pm.. Firemen reported Mrs. Laffins had stopped breathing. The resuscitator was used until breathing started again am Mrs Laffins was taken to the hospital..
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Sunday at Hulse Funeral home The Rev. H.J. Stelling of First Evangelical United Brother church will officiate an burial will be at Antioch Cemetery Toluca. Mrs Laffins was born Nov 2 1879 in Scotland daughter of James and Elizabeth Stevenson Mitchell.On July 5 1902 she married James Laffins at Toluca. She was a member of the EUB church an Royal neighbors.
Survivors include her husband, Three daughters Mrs Frank (Lillie)Kresl of Toluca,Mrs Raymond (Elizabeth) Fewell of Marseilles, Mrs George (Mary) Stortz of Ottawa. A son James Laffins Jr of Chico,Calif. Seven grandchildren,two great grandchildren,One sister Mrs Elizabeth Greuter of Low Point,IL, and one brother Archie Mitchell of Glasford,IL
