Sergeant Johnson was a member of Company B, 7th Motorized Transportation Battalion, Service Command, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific. He died in Korea from other causes on February 10, 1952.

Sgt. James Johnson Is Dead in Korea

Marine First Sgt. James Johnson, son of D.N. Johnson and brother of Jack Johnson; both of 244 1/2 W. 13th, died in Korea, his family has been notified.

Sergeant Johnson, 27, served in the Pacific more than five years during World War II. He reenlisted three years ago. A graduate of Itasca High School, he also is survived by his grandmother Mrs. W.H. Johnson, Sr. of Grandview, who reared him, and a brother, Jack Johnson.

He also is survived by two half sisters residing in Dallas and New Mexico.

The body will be taken to Maypearl for burial with full military honors.
