Jimmie Lewis Starr, born November 12, 1926, died Monday morning, January 28, 2008, at his home in Beehive.
Mr. Starr attended API (Auburn University) and was a member of Loachapoka United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army before becoming a contractor in Lee County for many years.
He is survived by four children; two sons, Richard D. Starr and James L. Starr, both of Auburn; and two daughters, Leigh Starr Chambers of Auburn, and Nancy Starr Abernathy of Columbus, GA. Mr. Starr is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Loachapoka United Methodist Church with graveside service to follow at 3:30 p.m. in Loachapoka Cemetery. The Reverend Scott Greenwood will be officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of EAMC.
