Kelsey Bird: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice
Richfield Reaper, The (UT) - April 20, 2006
Deceased Name: Kelsey Bird
Our dear sweet daughter and sister Kelsey was taken suddenly to her heavenly home Saturday April 15, 2006, after a tragic ATV accident.

Kelsey and her twin sister Courtney came into the world together ten short years ago on Nov. 28, 1995 to excited parents Roger and Janet Bird. Their close bond since birth continued throughout their youth. They were inseparable in life and best friends. Their laughter and friendship was a daily joy to witness. Their relationship was so close that they often moved and talked in unison as if they could read each others minds. It has been remarkable to see the similarities in these twins and the connection that they shared for each other and their Heavenly Father. Courtney has described Kelsey as the bright spot in her life.

Kelsey loved life and showed it each day. Singing, twirling cartwheels in the grass, jumping on the trampoline, riding her bike, dancing and sports were expressions of her joy for living. She really enjoyed playing "monster" with her sister and Dad at the park. Kelsey loved to hike in the hills west of Richfield with her family and friends. Stories at night read by mom and dad developed into a love of reading for Kelsey. Not only did she love to read, but she was also an excellent student in school. Kelsey made friends easily and was loved by her friends at school, church, and in the neighborhood.

Since the time she could talk, Kelsey often expressed her love of God and her heavenly home. She seemed to have an awareness of how short and precious life is and would tell her parents and her sisters, almost daily, that she loved them. Her daily prayers always included a desire that "no person or animal in the whole wide world would be hurt," and she daily expressed her gratitude for all her blessings individually, "and much, much more".

Kelsey is survived by her beloved twin sister, Courtney; her parents, Roger and Janet Bird; her four older sisters, Alicia, Jessica (Jesse) Barker, Lindsey and Megan; grandparents, Ralph H. and Nedra Kimball, St. George, and Vern and Veloy Bird, Kearns. She also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her uncle Kelly Kimball.

Funeral services will be held today, April 19, at 1p.m., in the Richfield LDS 3rd ward, 985 South 400 West.

Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary, on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the ward chapel today, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Interment will be at the Richfield Cemetery.

Funeral directors, Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
