Anthony Alapick Sr., 77, of North Street, Luzerne, died Wednesday at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Springfield, Illinois and resided in Luzerne most of his life. He was employed by area coal mines and by the Wyoming Valley West School District at Petebone School as a janitor.
Mr. Alapick was a member of Sacred Hearts Church, Luzerne and an Army Veteran of WW2 and a member of VFW Duryea Post.
He was preceded in death by his wife, and brothers: Joseph and George. Remaing are son Anthony Jr., at home and daughter Frances Jean of Pittston.
Funeral Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home, mass at 11 a.m. at Sacred Hearts Church. Interment in Saint Ignatius, Pringle.

Anthony death recorded in the U.S., Department of Veterans Affairs BIRLS Death File: Served Army, WW2, Enlistment Date: 15 Jul 1942 and Discharge Date: 26 Nov 1943.
