John Franklin Rogers, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at Providence Hospital on July 1, 2022, he was 92 years old.
John was born in Amarillo Texas on October 22, 1929. He was raised in Tulsa Oklahoma, and attended Tulsa University. After University, he served in the U.S. Navy, in the submarine corps.
John and Nancy were married in 1955 and enjoyed 67 years of marriage. His profession was a Geologist. John and Nancy moved to Anchorage in 1969. He had a very long career in oil geology. John and Nancy raised four sons,...
John liked alpine and cross country skiing. He enjoyed running and completed many marathons; Resurrection Trail Mayors, and Equinox. He enjoyed racing his road bike. If he wasn't biking, skiing or running then he was taking long walks. He also enjoyed travel with Nancy over all the States, in Russia and in Canada. John's interests towards the later part of his life was genealogy. He will be missed a lot.
