She lived her adult life in Marietta and Kennesaw. For most of her adult life she was a steno-typist by profession. She worked full time at her son's CPA firm until the age of 88. She was of the Baptist faith who served many churches as church pianist. She was predeceased by her parents, Walt and Mary Cantrell; husband G C Carnes; son, Zack Carnes; grandson, Christopher Carnes; sisters, Jane Osborne, Mimi Rickman, and Ann Cantrell; and brothers, Robert Cantrell and Tommy Cantrell. Surviving are her son, David Carnes (Tricia); daughter, Cathy Carnes Bennett (Ricky); grandsons, Patrick Carnes (Angel), Zachary Bennett and Drew Bennett; brothers, Danny Cantrell and Larry Cantrell (Karen); and sisters-in-law, Sarah Brown and Martha Smith.
