According to the Albemarle Parish Register, Peter Green, father of Myles Greene, was born in VA to Peter Green and wife Mary [LNU] (said by some to be Coleman.) In Virginia this generation of the family spelled the name Green. He was deceased by 22 Oct 1781 when an inventory and appraisal of his estate were returned by [son] James Green [Brunswick Co VA Order Bk 2 1741-1783, p207-208.] Much confusion has been caused by incorrect dates of birth/death for Peter Green published in several Georgia county history books and used on early DAR papers. An incorrect link was also published back to the Rhode Island Greene family.

Death dates of 1795 Brunswick Co VA and 20 Oct 1807 Hancock Co GA are sometimes attributed to Peter Green who died 1781. The 1795 death date refers to the will Of his and Judith's son Peter Green (b 1760) who died in Brunswick Co VA. The 20 Oct 1807 Hancock Co GA date is actually the date Myles Greene was appointed guardian for the persons and property of [his nephews] Coleman Greene, Myal Greene & Edmund Greene, orphans of Peter Greene late of the county of Brunswick and State of Virginia dec'd. Although the younger Peter Green had died in Brunswick Co VA bef 23 Feb 1795, having minor children and per the will, a division of the slaves was not made until the children were older and occurred in 1809 in Hancock Co GA. By that time the slaves were apparently in Georgia.

Peter Green, II, may have served in the Revolutionary War although some of the service he has been credited with may belong to son Peter Greene born 1760.

Husband of Judith (Love) Greene ~ married c 1750. 1st child recorded in Albemarle Parish records was born 27 Apr 1753. Judith's surname has been shown as Love with no proof offered.
