Marvin Lee Combs, 40, of Madison, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at his residence.

He was born March 23, 1967, in Scottsburg, the son of Jesse and Patricia Caudill Combs. He was a 1985 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. He married Jonetta LaPine on Jan. 16, 1991. He worked for 10 years for Jones Mechanical Service in Madison. He enjoyed cooking, working on cars, fishing and watching NASCAR, especially driver Dale Earnhardt.

He is survived by his companion of 11 years, Bonnie Lou Short; two sons, Randall Combs of Vevay and Jonathan Combs of Madison; one daughter, Cassie Combs of Madison; one stepson, Elvis Kirby of Gaston, S.C.; one stepdaughter, Heather Short of Deputy; his mother of Madison; two sisters, Hazel Reece of Madison and Amy Combs of North Vernon; one brother, Adrian Combs of Madison; one step grandson; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, who died in 1992; his grandparents, Elijah and Mattie Combs, and Enoch and Hazel Caudill; one uncle; and two cousins.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the service Friday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Marvin Combs Memorial Fund. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.

Mr. Marvin Lee Combs, age 40, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on March 23, 1967, in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of Jesse & Patricia Caudill Combs. He resided most of his life in Madison and was a 1985, graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. He was united in marriage on Jan. 16, 1991 in Carrollton, Kentucky, to Jonetta LaPine, to this union arrived one daughter and two sons to bless their home. He was employed for ten years with Jones Mechanical Service in Madison. He enjoyed cooking, working on cars, fishing, watching NASCAR and especially driver Dale Ernhardt. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his kids. Marvin died Monday, January 14, 2008 at 3:45 am at his home in Madison, Indiana, after battling cancer since March 2006.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 18, 2008 at 10:00 am, by the Rev. Vickie Perkins at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Springdale Cemetery in downtown Madison, Indiana.

VISITATION
Friends may call Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
