Robert C. Dailey, 89, husband of Dorothy K. Dailey, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, died Sunday, December 23, 2007.

Born July 30, 1918 in Middletown, NY, he was the son of the late Clarence Dailey and Nellie Bader Dailey.

He graduated from Middletown High School and later went on to graduate from Rutgers University. He proudly served his country, having served as a Lt. Col. in the Army. He served as a Co-Commander of the 9th Army ETO, Occupation of Germany, Military Government of Japan, and NATO Supply Depot, ITALY. He served at various ordnance depots and arsenals in the United States and was discharged from the Army at the Seneca Ordnance Depot in 1961. He was active in volunteering with S.B.A. Score, and the Masonic National Sojourners. He was also a past president of Wolf Lake, Inc.

He will be deeply missed by his wife: Dorothy Dailey; his son: Robert Dailey of New Jersey; and a granddaughter: Kelly Dailey of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was predeceased by his first wife, Willah Dailey on December 3, 1984.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 31 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 12 noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Pinto officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Sylvan Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
