Velma very much enjoyed spending time with her family, watching old westerns, listening to old country music, and in her younger days she loved dancing. She also enjoyed going out to eat and it didn't matter how far away the restaurant was because she loved long car rides on the back roads. She could be found at the Elks Lodge in Excelsior Springs where she served as an ambassador and loved sharing Excelsior Springs history with anyone who would listen.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Junior D. Clancy, mother Madalene (Crowley) Todd of Excelsior Springs, father Lester Todd of California, sister Dora Joann (Todd) Frye, grandson James Bond, and nephew Gary Frye.
Survivors include her five children, 2 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
