husband of E LaRue Smith married 24 August 1943 in Hagerstown, Maryland and son of Etha L Sprenkle and Clarence S Kugler. He was a life long resident of the Waynesboro area. Mr. Kugler was graduated from Washington Township High School with the class of 1939. He served with the United States Air Force during World War II and later with the Merchant Marines. They have lived on Franklin Street since 1960. Mr. Kugler entered the nursing home on November 18, 2007. In his early life, Mr. Kugler was employed at Pen Mar Park during the summer months and later did clerical work at Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro. Following his discharge from the military, he was an inspector at Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown, then went to work for Wyand Baking Company, Waynesboro, B.F. Goodrich at the Waynesboro and Chambersburg stores, and Joe the Motorists Friend, Waynesboro. He then became the office manager for Roberts' Chevrolet, Waynesboro, later Hershberger's Chevrolet. Prior to retiring in 1988, he was an outside collector for Citizens National Bank for eight years. Following his retirement, he owned and operator Kugler Haus Klock Shop, from 1988 to 2004, from his residence. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, where he was a member of the Crider Sunday School class. He was also a member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #731, Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, Eagles Club, Inc, and William Max McLaughlin V.F.W. Post 695, all of Waynesboro. Mr. Kugler enjoyed repairing clocks, building flying model airplanes, gardening and raising roses. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Karen C. Kugler of Fayetteville; three sons, Gregory L. Kugler, Michael D. Kugler, and Jeffrey W. Kugler, all of Waynesboro; three granddaughters; two step-grandsons; three great-grandchildren; one brother, William L. Kugler of Alabama; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret E. Shelly; and one brother, Mark S. Kugler.
