Dr. Jani was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Donora. He was a Podiatrist for 46 years with offices in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh and in Carmichaels in Greene County, Pennsylvania. He retired in 2018.
Dr. Joseph E. Jani, age 73, a resident of the Moon Township suburb of Pittsburgh, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at St. Clair Hospital in the Mount Lebanon suburb in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. He is survived by his wife Barbara A. (Sabol) Jani. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Krist E. Jani.
Arrangements were by the Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home, 40 Second Street, Extension, Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, (724) 379-6900.
The family received friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 217 Plainview St., Rostraver Township, PA 15012-1918, where the Funeral Divine Liturgy was held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Father Stephan Gresh officiating. Interment followed at Monongahela Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were requested to Brother's Brother Foundation, 1200 Galveston Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
