Wanda Lee Alexander was called to her heavenly home on Monday, April 18th, 2022, with her family holding her hand. She lived at the South Roanoke Nursing Home in Roanoke, VA.

Wanda loved the Lord and her favorite verse is John 3:16 " For God so loved the world, that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Wanda was born to Charles and Iris Vaughn on July 30th, 1938 in Moline, Illinois.

Wanda attended Woodstock High school in Woodstock, IL. From there she attended St Luke's Presbyterian Nursing School in Chicago, IL, and graduated in 1960 as a Registered Nurse.

Wanda raised three beautiful girls, Beth, Shirley, and Lynn. Wanda loved cooking, running, and gardening. She loved the time she spent with her girls and her grandchildren. She also wanted to be a missionary and was able to attend many Working & Witness trips to several countries including trips to Arizona to work with Indian children. During her career as an RN, she worked at Presbyterian Hospital of Chicago, IL, University of Maryland Medical Center in College Park, MD, Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA, and Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA where she touched many lives. After retirement, she lived in Singapore for 3 years and then came back to Roanoke to spend time with her family.

Wanda is survived by her three daughters, Beth Amos, Shirley (Ken) Jensen, and Lynn (Fiancé Tim) Donald. She is survived further by grandchildren, Kimberly (Chris) Reed, Christina (Jody) Davis, Richard (Shannon) Donald, and Joe and Keith Jensen. Great-grandchildren, Donovan and Keelie Everitt, Greenly Boykin, Stella, and Scott Donald, and Chloe and Bryce Peters.

Surviving siblings, RoseMarie Winckler, Scotland SD; Nina Jean (George) Weiss, Green Lake, WI; Nancy Bowker, Aledo, IL; Kay Ellen Robinson, Colona, IL; Wanda is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceding Wanda in death, her father and mother Charles and Iris Vaughn, and son-in-law, Richard Amos. Her sisters, Betty Rae Gensch, Charlotte Banks, Ann Steiner, and Carol Sue Vaughn; her brothers, Robert Dean Vaughn and Daniel Bruce Vaughn and brothers-in-law, Richard Gensch and Lowell Winckler.

Funeral arrangements will be at Germania Cemetery in Germania, Wisconsin with a private family service at a later date.
