Graveside services for Flora Strasmick Abrams, 108, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Mount Zion Cemetery. A memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Temple Emeth in Ardmore.

Mrs. Abrams, daughter of the late William and Rachel Schwarz Newman, was born March 22, 1892, in Bryan, Texas. She passed away on March 26, 2000, in a Dallas health care facility.

In 1917 Flora was married to David Strasmick and that year they opened a business that became known as Strasmick's Jewelers. David passed away in Aug. 26, 1935. She married Will Scott Abrams in 1941. He died May 19, 1971. Strasmick's Jewelers remained in continuous operation until 1989 when she moved to Dallas, at the age of 101, to be near her granddaughter.

In addition to her two husbands, Flora was preceded in death by a son, William David Strasmick, Dec. 29, 1969.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Debbie Strasmick; daughter-in-law, Ida Strasmick; niece, Claire Slaton of San Marcos, Calif.; and special friends, Miriam and Max Vernon; and a host of other friends and relatives.

Memorials may be made to the Golden Acres Hospice, 2525 Centerville Road, Dallas, TX 75228.

Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
