When the Civil War began the two oldest Henry sons, Robert Walton and Theophilus William Henry, joined the Confederate forces.
Theophilus William Henry was assigned to the 4th Mississippi Infantry. He was captured at the battle for Fort Donelson, Tennessee; paroled and captured again at the Big Black River near Vicksburg. He was paroled again but never returned to duty.
His brother Robert enlisted at Carrollton and on March 1, 1862, was assigned to the "Dixie Rangers," Co. B, 28th Mississippi Cavalry. The unit was engaged in picket duty along the main road between Meridian and Jackson and Vicksburg through much of 1863.
Theophilus William Henry is the son of Theoplilus Fields HENRY and Sarah Beck.
T.W.Henry married Mary Frances Nelms . She was born Dec. 10,1845 in MS.
