King Rowland, 92, of Amarillo died Saturday, May 3, 2003.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Second Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Jones officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N. S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Rowland was born July 30, 1910, in Jackson County, Okla. He married Nina Belle Finney in 1975. He enjoyed playing “42” with friends and family and was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, a son, William King Rowland, Jr. of Canyon Lake; five daughters, Phyllis Howle, Linda Vessels, and Ann Curl,all of Amarillo, Norma Witkovsky of The Colony, and Jewel Sharp of Gainesville; two brothers, Estol Rowland of Durant, Okla., and Roy Rowland of Cartwright, Okla.; three sisters, Martha Weathers, of Marietta, Okla., Juanita Lester of Dallas, and Nadine Presley of Garland; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
