Fred served four years in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, including an in-country tour of duty. He went on to a law enforcement career with the Fort Lauderdale, FL Police Department and the Broward County (FL) Sheriff's Office. He was a motorcycle officer. Shot and run over in the line of duty, he never wavered nor faltered. Fred was a larger than life story teller with a stentorian voice; he was a joy to his friends and a brick-wall to wrong-doers. After retirement, he worked as the Law Enforcement Liaison with a local Harley dealership. Then, always looking for adventure, he and his wife moved to Northern Maine for several years where he enjoyed the other things he loved in life, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.
A military service was conducted on 6 June, 2022 during in-ground inurnment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida followed by a celebration of life attended by friends and family.
